Internal Security Agency

The Internal Security Agency is one of the official civil institutions affiliated with the components of the Libyan state. It aims to preserve the state’s entity, protect its political, social, and economic security, combat terrorism, and address destructive phenomena and threats that target its religious and social values or affect its international standing and relations.
The Agency operates from its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, extending its activities to its various departments, branches, and offices distributed across the country to achieve its objectives and maintain security nationwide.

To maintain security and stability and protect the national fabric through intelligence work in cooperation with other relevant agencies, addressing internal threats based on professionalism, efficiency, transparency, and respect for the law.

Goals

The Internal Security Agency derives its values and principles from the State’s constitution, including the preservation of the citizen’s dignity and legitimate and legal rights. The agency carries out its duties within the framework of Libyan laws and regulations, emphasizing the discipline of its personnel, their good conduct, strict adherence to confidentiality, and focusing on the following principles and values:

Loyalty to God and the Nation

The agency places loyalty to God first, followed by loyalty to the nation, dedicating its efforts to safeguarding its security, safety, and stability.

Integrity

Commitment to an institutional approach in work, ensuring excellence within the framework of laws and regulations, while remaining impartial and free from personal biases.

Commitment & Responsibility

Adherence to all applicable security and military regulations in Libya without exceeding their limits, while respecting all other civil laws.

Continuous Development

Commitment to the principles of continuous development by qualifying its personnel and members, enhancing their capabilities, and advancing their scientific and professional knowledge through training and development programs inside and outside Libya.
