As part of the Internal Security Agency’s ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling of foreign currency out of the country, its inspection officers at Mitiga International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle €885,000, which was divided between the possession of two women:

  • L.R.Y.H, born 1979
  • N.A.M.J, born 1971

This operation reflects the leading role of the Internal Security Agency in addressing sensitive economic issues, including its active contribution to resolving the crisis at the Central Bank of Libya and curbing the currency exchange rate.

Despite the challenges faced, the agency demonstrated that its main goal is to alleviate citizens’ suffering and protect them from economic manipulation. This has contributed to a noticeable decline in the US dollar exchange rate, enabled small traders to access foreign currency, addressed liquidity issues, and increased allocations for personal purposes—collectively resulting in a significant positive impact on the national economy.
